I’m grateful to @tuckercarlson for giving space to a conversation many would rather avoid. We spoke about my hometown of Beit Sahour, the town of the shepherds in Luke 2, the pressures facing the oldest continuous Christian communities on earth, and why their survival matters far beyond one people or one place. Our vision as Christians for both Palestinians and Israelis is mutual flourishing, dignity, and peace for all who call the Holy Land home. But as followers of Jesus, we are also called to raise a prophetic voice whenever injustice is inflicted on the innocent, no matter who commits it. That is why I went on the show, and my hope is that this conversation deepens your faith, renews your appreciation for the gospel, and elevates your admiration for Jesus. And my story is not the only one. There are countless untold stories of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians, Muslims and Christians, whose suffering may never be heard by the world, though it is fully known to God. I also recognize the real suffering of many Jewish families caught in this endless cycle of violence and loss in our land. You don’t have to agree with everything to believe these stories deserve to be heard. Honest dialogue is where understanding begins.
