Igbo people seceded to form Biafra but dragged the old eastern region with them including the likes of Efik, Ibibio, Ijaw, Ogoni, Annang and not just Igbo speaking part of that regions. Why? Because Ojukwu and his Nnewi clique wanted the Oil and the lands of the non Igbo speaking people of that region and also access to the Atlantic Ocean. Pure expansionism and not just a fight for survival. After then Ojukwu also claimed he wanted to liberate the mid-west (in operation torch) and he went further to impose an Igbo speaking leader on them, then he said he wanted to liberate Yoruba people, as we can all see in the letter he sent to Victor Banjo, are these folks all Igbo speaking people? He was a covetous person that was so hungry for power and made innocent people suffer in an unnecessary war. The Biafran secession was not solely about Igbo nationalism. It had strategic, economic, and political layers. Ojukwu's inclusion of non-Igbo regions was indeed controversial and led to resentment. Telling lies and rewriting history doesn’t help anyone. It only makes a group of people perpetual victims.
