Insane that the names of many of these people were given to the US, likely by the IAEA, as a result of the JCPOA. Why on earth would any sensible country on earth negotiate with the US in good faith again? Or not develop their own nukes?

@adrianhalimhere @sighyam Actually, opening a product before paying for it is considered a crime in Japan. Pointing this out is necessary to uphold the effectiveness of the law and maintain public order.

But let’s actually talk about the convenience store noodle system in Thailand vs Japan. Please no fighting. In Thailand, if you want instant noodles, you pick one out, then go to the noodle station and pour hot water, and then pay. After that, you either sit down and eat or leave with your food. Why is it convenient? In Thailand, the prep happens while you’re waiting anyway, so you’re overlapping tasks. But in Japan, everything is sequential, so total time can be longer for the individual customer, even if the system itself is more controlled? Thailand: pick > prepare > queue > pay > eat Japan: pick > queue > pay > prepare > wait > eat Both societies already operate on high interpersonal trust, so I’m confused why Japanese consumers follow corporate rules that don’t make sense? 7-11 rules don’t count as “culture or tradition” so that reasoning can’t be used lol You also can’t blame foreigners, this system has been in place in Thailand for years, and Thailand is also a tourist hub yet everything works fine and saves consumers 1-3 minutes in waiting time per meal.

@id_def_report @O5Bravo LFP tidak "lebih baik" dari NMC karena beda segmen. NMC punya energy density lebih besar, thermal runway lbh bagus, dan lbh kuat adaptasi perbedaan suhu. Kuatnya LFP ada di instant energy fluctuation dan cycle life. Makanya NMC hanya dikhususkan utk premium dan permintaan buyer.

The letter demands the resignation of of Foundation Chairman Hsiao Hsu-tsen. There was a physical altercation where then-chairman Hsiao was physically ejected from the building by King. Hsiao was publicly accused of "severe lapses in fiduciary discipline", with leaks to the media suggesting he had “unauthorized and improper” dealings in China while using the foundation name. KMT Chairwoman Cheng Li-wun leaped to Hsiao’s defense. Hsiao had a reputation for being a long-time Ma loyalist and his long experience dealing with China as Ma’s guy is invaluable in her own efforts in advancing cross straits relations. “If we cut off our colleagues when anyone spills dirty water on them, who would dare to do things for the KMT?” Asked Cheng. It would deeply wound her to lose Hsiao, her deputy chairman. This event split the KMT in two: the Ma-King faction and the Hsiao-Cheng faction. And would you look at that…it lines up roughly with the pro-America faction vs the pro-China faction. King wasn’t nicknamed “Little Knife King” for nothing. And a lot of ppl think Hsiao got shivved. Ma is older, have not made many public appearances of late and some say is cognitively compromised. Is King coming out of retirement to help his old friend clean house? Or taking advantage of his old connections to snipe Cheng’s chances by attacking her right hand? This could be a disaster not just for Hsiao but the whole KMT. If Ma escalates the charges against Hsiao with the prosecution that could be cause for the prosecution getting unfettered access to a lot of Ma foundation and even KMT documents. The prosecutors would have a field day. They might even find something that will finally allow them to put Ma himself behind bars. Recall that most of Ma’s post-presidency was embroiled in a “judicial marathon” that ultimately saw him cleared of all charges. Why would he want to reopen Pandora’s box? Or does he even know what he’s doing?

General William Westmoreland, the American commander in Vietnam, said that Asians do not value human life the way Westerners do. He said this to explain why Vietnamese soldiers kept fighting despite losses that would have broken Western armies. He did not say: perhaps they are fighting for something worth dying for. He did not say: perhaps our intelligence about their will to fight was wrong. He did not say: perhaps we have fundamentally misunderstood this enemy. He said: they don't value life. This is what happens when an army built on the premise of its own civilizational superiority meets a people who simply refuse to accept that premise. The army cannot update its model. It cannot say "we were wrong about who these people are." So it invents a theory where the enemy's resistance is not a sign of strength but a sign of deficiency. They keep fighting because life is cheap to them. Not because their cause is just. Not because they are brave. Because they are less than us. Westmoreland ran the war for years on this theory. He lost. The Vietnamese people, who apparently did not value life, built a country that is alive and growing and free. Westmoreland died in 2005. The people he could not understand are still here. So is the theory.
