Once you track down the EXE, use the /extract command to pull out the MSI. No properties to configure, no transforms needed. It just copies DLLs and registers COM components. A standard silent Msiexec command is all it takes for MECM or Intune. Advanced Installer also includes MSXML 4.0 SP3 as a predefined prerequisite.

Some legacy apps still depend on MSXML. The official download links are dead, version 4.0 has been EOL since 2014, and yet software packagers still run into it regularly. Here is what you need to know to deploy it correctly in 2026. #SoftwarePackaging #MSXML #WindowsDeployment
