@andreasengstrom Wow so interesting, I didn’t realise that Germans are only able to be friendly in their native language! Or, are you saying they only able to be friendly to people who speak fluent German? 🙃

I know I’ve already lived in Berlin too long because I’m currently in London and am almost being moved to tears on an hourly basis by everyone’s friendliness, politeness and warmth. I feel like I’m in care bear land.

I just read your last comment in response to the contrarian to my 11 yr old daughter. Her response, “Roasted”.

I just saw from my window a man make a wee into the kindergarten yard next door. Just a normal looking guy who needed to relieve himself, and all I wanted to do was yell “Oi!, don’t be such a Wanker!” all Roy Kent style out the window. #publicUrination

@waitbutwhy When your 11-year old or 14-year old can’t stop asking why they can’t have more screen time, then the answer is always “because tacos don’t have teeth!”

When kids repeatedly ask “why?” they’re trying to see the underlying reasoning behind what they’re told by authorities. “Because I said so” rejects that instinct and says “stop reasoning and obey.” We then become adults who only know how to trust authorities other than ourselves.
