IRAN OPENS HORMUZ—FIRST WESTERN SHIP PASSES
Iran has allowed a French container ship to cross the Strait of Hormuz after over a month stuck in the Gulf.
The vessel is among a small group of Western ships approved, as more than 1,000 vessels remain waiting, with crossings tightly controlled via an IRGC-monitored route.

During World War II, Hitler was convinced that Americans lacked the will to fight and that any who did would be quickly overwhelmed.
When early reports arrived from the battles in North Africa, German observers noted that Americans fought differently from the Europeans.
Rather than charging aggressively and risking heavy infantry casualties, U.S. forces relied on overwhelming firepower—staying at a distance and expending vast quantities of artillery with little hesitation. Thanks to unmatched industrial production and logistics, fresh supplies were always available.
This approach allowed relatively smaller American units to wear down much larger and well-entrenched enemy forces.
In contrast, German and other European doctrines often emphasized aggressive maneuver and were sometimes more willing to accept high casualties to achieve objectives or preserve key equipment.
This material-heavy American style surprised many Germans, including Hitler, who had long dismissed U.S. soldiers as soft and lacking in fighting spirit. He believed soldiers were cheap and expendable; he discovered too late that Americans fought to conserve lives by expending machines and ammunition instead.
It was one of many reasons for Germany’s defeat—perhaps the hardest for some foreigners to fully understand.
Americans place a high value on the lives of our soldiers. Equipment and shells could always be replaced.

Mejor coyuntura posible. La pegaron los de Adecoagro.

@witte_sergei The Russian port fortress-city of Kaliningrad, the old Königsberg, was founded by a Czech king.

The Czechs, being landlocked, don’t actually have a navy. However, the Czechoslovak Legion did sink a Red Army icebreaker on Lake Baikal in 1918 using a captured steamer, and thus technically the Czechs are undefeated in naval battles.

Imagine telling someone 10 years ago that a country in Africa would have 5th generation fighter jets by 2025/26. It's actually nuts.

CONFIRMED - Iran is allowing select vessels transit the SoH after verfication
At least 4 vessels have transited outbound voa the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24hrs with a short diversion via the Larak-Qeshm Channel.
This appears to be a verification process whereby Iran confirms the ownership, cargo and vessel are not US, or belongs to those that Iran has permitted transit to.
The ships that have passed are 3 bulk carrier (2 Greek / 1 Indian) and one aframax tanker (Pakistan).

i pointed Claude Code at the pentagon's public budget document and told it to find every contract overpaying by 10x or more
it came back with 340 results worth $4.2B in potential undercuts
and a business plan i didn't ask for
i fed it the FPDS.gov procurement feed and said "cross-reference with commercial COTS pricing"
it pulled 1.2 million contract awards through the USAspending v2 API and started comparing line items against retail equivalents
→ $1,280 for a connector plug that costs $14.80 on digikey
→ $3,400 for a circuit breaker listed at $287 on mouser
→ $71,000 for a ruggedized tablet that's basically a panasonic toughbook with a sticker
→ $940 per unit for cable assemblies you can get from shenzhen for $31
→ 340 contracts flagged at 10x or more markup
→ 19 of them were above 50x
it used XGBoost scoring against 43,000 vendor profiles from SAM.gov to rank by ease of undercut
then unprompted it generated a full proposal template compliant with CMMC 2.0 requirements
87 of those contracts have a single domestic supplier, zero competition. the AI calculated that undercutting by just 40% would still leave 6x margins on most items
it formatted everything into a pitch deck, named the company, and suggested i register on SAM.gov tonight
i didn't ask for any of that
the pentagon spends billions a year trying to audit problems like this. a poet with Claude Code and a public API flagged $4.2 billion in one afternoon
the agent is currently drafting my first bid response

this is actually insane
> be tech guy in australia
> adopt cancer riddled rescue dog, months to live
> not_going_to_give_you_up.mp4
> pay $3,000 to sequence her tumor DNA
> feed it to ChatGPT and AlphaFold
> zero background in biology
> identify mutated proteins, match them to drug targets
> design a custom mRNA cancer vaccine from scratch
> genomics professor is “gobsmacked” that some puppy lover did this on his own
> need ethics approval to administer it
> red tape takes longer than designing the vaccine
> 3 months, finally approved
> drive 10 hours to get rosie her first injection
> tumor halves
> coat gets glossy again
> dog is alive and happy
> professor: “if we can do this for a dog, why aren’t we rolling this out to humans?”
one man with a chatbot, and $3,000 just outperformed the entire pharmaceutical discovery pipeline.
we are going to cure so many diseases.
I dont think people realize how good things are going to get
