BREAKING NEWS ... The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (Cran) has declined the application of billionaire Elon Musk’s satellite internet company Starlink to operate in Namibia. Cran spokesperson Mufaro Nesongano confirmed this on Monday following the Government Gazette of 23 March. "The authority resolved to decline the award of a class comprehensive telecommunications service licence for Starlink Internet Services Namibia (Pty) Limited," the gazette reads. Congo-Brazzaville🇨🇬 President Denis Sassou N’Guesso's government has imposed a nationwide internet blackout on the day of the presidential elections. "Network data show a nation-scale disruption to internet connectivity in the Republic of #Congo", @netblocks reports. His government has made it a habit to switch off network connectivity during presidential elections. A similar blackout was observed during the March 2021 election. N’Guesso, 82, who is seeking re-election, has been in power for a total of 42 years. He is the third longest ruling African leader, after Cameroon ’s Paul Biya and Equatorial Guinea ’s Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. In 2015, his government conducted a referendum that removed presidential age limits and term limits, allowing him to remain eligible for office.

JUST IN: US State dept is designating the #Sudanese Muslim Brotherhood as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist and intends to designate the group as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, effective March 16, 2026. This places the Sudanese Muslim Brotherhood in the same league as Al-Qaeda, Taliban, Hamas, al-Shabaab and ISIS. And it means American entities are prohibited from providing services or goods to the group and its members. Yet it raises questions on whether the Sudanese junta is now facing the same accusations, having strong ties to the Brotherhood. The junta (SAF) and rivals Rapid Support Forces have already been sanctioned for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The Sudanese Muslim Brotherhood fighters supposedly receive training and other support from #Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), have conducted mass executions of civilians, according to the State Department. The Brotherhood’s al-Baraa Bin Malik Brigade was had been designated in September 2025 for its role in Sudan’s war.

Yesterday, H.E. Joseph Masila, Ambassador of Kenya to Saudi Arabia, visited Kenyans who were on board a Qatar Airways flight headed to Doha but was diverted to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Sunday, 1st March 2026. A total of 150 Kenyans were aboard the flight and arrangements were made by the Airline for them to be hosted in different Hotels in Riyadh. Amb. Masila was accompanied by the Labour and Immigration team from the Embassy. The visit was part of the Consular support to Kenyans in the Kingdom. After discussions with the Kenyans, it was agreed that the Airline would facilitate those willing to travel back to Nairobi, while those on transit are being facilitated to leave to their various destinations. The Embassy has in this regard requested for issuance of emergency entry/exit visas to facilitate their exit. H.E. the Ambassador assured them of the full support of the Government of Kenya to ensure that their personal welfare and safety is guaranted amidst the unfolding crisis in the Region.
