Say what you will, but you can’t say Matt Gaetz is unfamiliar with the DOJ

Matt Gaetz as AG is so brutal. Clown college in that cabinet.

I'm reasonably confident when people study US History 100 years from now there will be a focus on the extreme influence we allowed industrialists to have in our politics.

@6R0M7 Joe Rogan proclaiming MAGA to be “punk rock” in the Trump interview was as nauseating as it gets. That I cannot abide.

Who’s the Bro Rogan on the left? How are we going to re-capture people who got sucked into that vortex?

@SeanLyng Same experience this morning. I recall the long urban voting poll experience as well.

It took me 5 minutes to vote this morning @ 7:30am in my affluent suburb. When i see lines to vote in cities that stretch around entire city blocks it makes me irrationally angry.

@SeanLyng Yes, “voting with money” falls over as a metaphor when the amounts people bet have different significance to the participants. That makes sense to me.

@alextaylor Imagine playing poker against Bill Gates, you sit down with $100 and he sits down with $1mm. He can put you all-in every hand and even if you win 10x in a row he can still control the game.

@SeanLyng Pretty sure there are several michelin star caliper chefs that would disagree with you on the chicken score, not that your opinion isn't valid as your own.

Not sure if these are even cancellable food takes but...: -Squash Sucks. -Chicken shouldn't be on the menu at fancy restaurants. -Never trust a person who doesn't order desert.

@SeanLyng I believe in this in the general case for sure but I'm not sure it could extend to Trump if I'm being 100% honest. Jan 6 and using the phrase "china virus" over and over again to promote racism toward asian people are front of mind.

Perhaps an unpopular take but just because someone’s voting for Trump doesn’t mean you can’t be their friend. Also in polite society we’re nice to our significant other’s circle of friends even if we don’t particularly like them all.

@SeanLyng ETH and SOL both seem risky to me - ETH because it seems like its scaling strategy is overly complicated for users , SOL because it crashes and needs to be "restarted". Neither of these networks seems ready today to be Visa style rails for banks.

@SeanLyng BTC is a really simple asset to understand and it's already fulfilled it's promise if you believe its positioning as just a digital value store. ETH/SOL/X - you have to first accept that any digital asset can have value, like BTC, AND you have to believe in unproven tech.

Others have made this point better than I, but it really is interesting to see how much worse Ether has done vs. Bitcoin. (blue line is Ether, left-hand scale)

@SeanLyng Apparently a JD Vance talking point is that Imane Khelif is 'not a biological woman', which no one else has ever alleged to my knowledge. If the only thing governing male vs. female is T levels then conversely many men are not men according to JD Vance.

Were there any republicans on the morning talk shows asked "How do you define a woman?"

@SeanLyng Below a certain age it seems like privacy concerns just aren't a thing is my experience. It's strange to me that people can't extrapolate from the NFL stadium to a Chinese-style police state with social credits.

When they scan your ticket via your smartphone, what info is passed from phone to Dallas (or insert any team here)? Now they know your name/phone, now have a photo of your face b/c they know what seat you're in. Who did you attend with? How much food did you buy?

@SeanLyng It’s also super messed up to steal someone’s Olympic moment from them over this nonsense.

@alextaylor agree. She has always been a woman. Algeria considers her a woman. I’m not sure why the rest of the world has an issue with how she’s living her life. but, what would we be without arguments over nonsense?

@SeanLyng Regardless of which it is, this issue was dealt with extremely poorly by the governing body - she no question has lived a life since birth as a woman. If there is any legitimate issue it should have been dealt with privately, definitively, and ideally prior to the Olympics.

@SeanLyng I haven't really followed the story. It seems like the Algerian boxer just has an elevated T level, but it wasn't clear in a bit of reading if it was in a biological passport sense (relative to her own baseline), or if it was just relative to some XX average range.
