The brutality Afghan women endure under Taliban rule is heartbreaking, and a stain on the conscience of the world. Girls as young as 10 are banned from education. Women are beaten in the streets for simply showing their faces or daring to live with basic freedom. Their rights are crushed daily under a regime that treats female existence itself as a crime. And the world watches in silence. Where are the feminists? Where are the human rights organizations? Where is the outrage? This is not “culture.” This is barbarism. The silence is deafening — and complicit.
