This morning I chatted* with my marketing hero, Seth Godin. I took 1,000 of his blog posts, made them "LLM-friendly", then asked a lot of questions. It cost me nothing (besides time), so here's the step-by-step if you want to do the same. 1. You'll need a source of data. CSV files. Blog post content. PDFs. Whatever it is. Seth has an RSS feed and a lot of public blog content. 2. This may be optional for you, but I simplified his blog posts (there's typically a lot of extras on blogs) and converted them to markdown. 3. The magic part is AutoRAG from Cloudflare, which is free while it's in beta. You essentially upload all of your data to Cloudflare, they "chunk" and store it (vectorize it) and then allow you to chat with it via an LLM. By default they use Llama 3.3 from Meta, but you can change that. 4. There are other ways to build systems like this (I've built one with n8n and Pinecone before) but Cloudflare makes it ridiculously simple. 5. You can now chat with the data you provided in a way that's far easier than typical search. The AI only answers based on what you gave it, rather than general knowledge. I also haven't seen any hallucinating as everything is clearly referenced back to a source. ** This was just a personal experiment and I wouldn't go and take content from around the web going forward. I also wouldn't recommend making something like this public without permission from the person / brand involved. You may need to enable billing on your Cloudflare account but I haven't run up any charges at all. I can definitely envision a future where most websites offer this directly, or websites even "team up" so you can chat with Ahrefs, Semrush and Detailed (😬) content all in one place. Before I get any haters, I'm not claiming there's anything novel or new here. Just someone who spent a ton of time on other ways to do this, AutoRAG is pretty amazing. Zero affiliation, of course :)
