attended @npparikh’s brilliant talk over the weekend apart from me and him, the room was almost entirely artists, theatre/film crowd or those skeptical of ai neil drew from the invention of the camera in the 1800s, Plato, Shannon and somehow also made the political + technical economy of ai feel legible you could feel the resistance soften enough for curiosity to enter. the real gap isn’t intent rather the very understanding that most artists can’t meaningfully accept ai without actually knowing how it works
