My sister's hamster escaped and we thought it died until we found it SIX MONTHS LATER living in the walls absolutely thriving. We only discovered him because my dad was convinced we had a poltergeist since he kept hearing scratching and finding his hidden candy stash empty. Dad set up a camera to catch the "ghost" and instead caught Butterscotch, this hamster, squeezing through a hole, stealing a Snickers, and disappearing. We tore open the wall and found a full hamster paradise. He'd stolen socks for bedding, had a stash of probably 50 nuts and candies, and somehow found water from a leaky pipe. He'd GAINED weight. This hamster lived better in our walls than he did in his cage. We tried to put him back in the cage and he looked legitimately depressed, so now Butterscotch free-roams the house and my dad leaves out "tribute" snacks. The hamster runs this house now. We are his subjects.

Siapa bilang hewan gak punya empati? Kucing hitam bernama Radamenes ini ngebuktiin kalau mereka juga bisa balas budi dengan cara yang paling menyentuh. Tahun 2014, Radamenes dibawa ke klinik hewan di Polandia dalam kondisi infeksi paru-paru parah sampai hampir disuntik mati karena dianggap gak punya harapan sembuh. Tapi berkat dokter yang nolak menyerah, kucing ini berhasil selamat dari masa kritisnya. Uniknya, setelah sembuh total, Radamenes gak cuma numpang hidup. Dia malah "bekerja" jadi perawat di klinik itu. Tiap ada anjing atau kucing lain yang kritis habis operasi, Radamenes bakal dateng buat meluk, nemenin di kandang, dan ngejilatin mereka biar tetep hangat. Dia tahu rasanya hampir mati, dan sekarang tugas hidupnya adalah mastiin hewan-hewan lain gak ngerasa sendirian pas lagi kesakitan. 😭❤️ Dokter di klinik itu sampai heran karena Radamenes ini ramah ke semua hewan, bahkan ke anjing sekalipun yang biasanya musuhan sama kucing. Kehadiran dia terbukti secara psikologis bikin hewan-hewan yang stres pasca-operasi jadi jauh lebih tenang dan cepet sembuh.

Perempuan yg diam di sangkar malam itu hampir tandas meneguk racikan hari yg mulai kelam. Ia laksana kopi, pahitnya tdk senantiasa dpt diterima. Namun semerbak aromanya, kerap mjd candu. Tak ada hitam n pahit yg disembunyikan. Ia menyajikannya penuh kejujuran, tnp alasan.
