E-3G Sentry AWACS 81-0005 ("Balls-5"), assigned to the 552nd ACW out of Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, appears to have been destroyed by an Iranian missile or drone strike on March 27.
The aircraft was on the ground at Prince Sultan Air Base in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia. The extent of the damage depicted in the images would classify the $500 million aircraft a complete loss.
Multiple USAF KC-135 tankers were also hit and 10–12 U.S. personnel were injured during the strike.
The Pentagon has not officially confirmed the authenticity of the photos.
However, I have conducted a comparative analyses of the images and found that the details of damage and debris from three separate angles match exactly, meaning there is a high probability the images are NOT AI fabricated.
