I get guys all the time asking if it’s really me who is talking to them or if it’s an agency. It makes me so angry that the industry has become over saturated with these predatory management companies. I remember when I first started OF it was extremely rare for a girl to have a management team and most of us hadn’t even heard of it before because it was so new. Now there’s so many of them and what makes it worse is they’re requiring girls to market for them and convince others to join. It’s basically a trafficking operation and the real fucking irony is OF was supposed to give sex workers independence away from the toxic environments of the adult industry. Now so many girls are slaves to men who own them and their content while doing nothing yet still taking a large % of their income. It’s gross and makes those of us who are independent and authentic lose credibility when we didn’t even do anything. Subs shouldn’t have to wonder if they’re talking to a real person or not. OF agencies are a cancer to the sex work industry. TO ALL THE NEWBIES OUT THERE PLEASE DO NOT THINK YOU HAVE TO USE AN AGENCY TO BE SUCCESSFUL! People really love to undermine the work it takes to be successful in the sex worker industry. It’s not as simple as taking a photo and instantly getting rich. It takes years for people to build up a following and find a reliable audience to market to. Then once you find that audience you have to stay consistent with your content. You have to learn how to market yourself and study the algorithm. You have to keep up with all the new platforms and constantly find ways to separate yourself from others. You wear many hats in this line of work. You’re a boss, manager, editor, marketer, photographer, basically anything you have to be in order to build your page. It’s also not a consistent form of income. You’re never guaranteed a certain amount of money. Some months you could make bank and other months you could be grasping at straws to get by. I’ve had years where things were amazing and I’ve had years where they weren’t. It’s a risk doing this full time and you have to have the drive to keep going no matter what. It’s very easy to become discouraged. There’s also the mental work you have to do if you’re going to stay sane in this business. You have to deal with hate, threats, doxxing, revenge porn, stolen content, etc. You’ll be judged and treated like garbage by thousands of people online. Some even lose the relationships they have with family or friends. It shouldn’t be like that but society unfortunately hasn’t progressed enough in that department. You have to be strong and not let the hate get to you. It’s definitely not for everyone. This job can be life changing in both good and bad ways. That’s why it’s important to really weigh the possible pros and cons. If you’re going to start OF you have to make sure you’re able to commit to all it entails. It’s hard work and not everyone has the patience or discipline to make it.
