Man arrested with Samurai sword - Police thank public. Around 10.20 this morning on Saturday 7th March. Police were called by several members of the public due to a man acting suspiciously near to Aylestone Road and Saffron Lane, Leicester. Armed officers attend Aylestone Road and arrested a 36-year-old man who remains in custody. The man, who was walking along the road, was carrying a Samurai Sword. No one was injured, in the incident. Leicestershire Police would like to thank the public for their quick response and for calling 999 to report this incident. Thanks to their quick action police were able to deal with this immediately and no one came to any harm. #LeicsPolice

Grassroots teams pay a lot of money out in insurances, officials, bills, affiliations and fines. This is without the running costs and maintenance of facilities. Grassroots clubs will end up folding because of weather like this and not being able to afford to operate.

Time for @leicsfa and @FA to step in and help local clubs out all over the country. Clubs haven’t had games for months because of this weather, zero income in clubhouses that rely on matches and no doubt hundreds of clubs up and down the country struggling to pay running costs.

ℹ️ There will be a 9am pitch inspection ahead of tomorrow's game against @BrackleyTownFC. Since Monday, the pitch at Gateshead International Stadium has had covers on to help ensure the surface is playable for both ourselves and @NUFCWomen. Until Thursday, there was a serious amount of rain fall that slightly hindered the drying of the pitch. The improvement today, and the fact warm air is being used on the playing surface, has seen a vast improvement that we hope is working in the right direction. As a precaution, the covers will remain in place today and overnight, and we have organised for a pitch inspection by the match referee at 9am on Saturday morning. Everything that can be done is being done, and we thank both Newcastle United Women and Sports Stadia for the use of the pitch covers throughout this week. #WorClub ⚪️⚫️

It’s been a long long winter but the plant is slowly waking up Double hoover after Thursdays game (we needed a break ! ) and some dressing in the warm up areas. Procore , spray and granular this week then an overseed early next.. It may get enjoyable again
