Today is the saddest day of my life 😢 Dillon passed away suddenly this afternoon in my arms. He had not been ill. His symptoms developed quickly over a couple of hours but we could not reach a vet in time. We're both completely devastated.

This weekend saw the first anniversary of my election as a local councillor for Elton. Its been a fab year - I’ve learnt a lot and had plenty of fun, and I’ve done my best to work as hard as I can for my hometown. Thanks to @MartinJ_Hayes and @sjsouthworth for all their support.

Is it just me or is anyone else hoping life never gets back to ‘normal’ after lockdown? The air feels cleaner, time has slowed, we’re saving money, eating more nutritious home cooked meals, noticing more wildlife, and I’m feeling chilled ☺️

Don’t mind McDonalds closing but the NHS?

What’s the bigger picture? I’m not a conspiracy theorist, however, why are we all being controlled by all our governments by fear of a bad flu type virus? We accept without question restrictions placed in us by people we didn’t elect to power all over the world.

Without wishing to sound uncaring, more people are killed by heart desease, road accidents and cancer than Covid 19 could ever kill. Why are governments and the WHO causing such alarm about a virus no more harmful than flu? Correct me if I’m wrong.

In the US so far, the CDC has estimated (based on weekly influenza surveillance data) that at least 12,000 people have died from influenza between Oct. 1, 2019 through Feb. 1, 2020, and the number of deaths may be as high as 30,000. Pass me the toilet roll and the Hand Wash!
