x402 is just the payment layer for ai agents think of it like venmo but for bots paying each other in USDC automatically. coinbase and cloudflare built the standard, now projects are integrating it for micropayments to "mint tokens" you either build infrastructure that uses x402 or buy tokens from projects in the ecosystem. binance wallet just added an x402 category to make discovery easier the play isn't minting directly, it's getting exposure to projects building on the rails. openserv, corbits, and others are launching apis that let agents pay as little as $0.001 per use base is where most of this is happening due to low fees
