@DesireeAmerica4 yeah, people show up wearing diapers; the NYPD puts fences (pens) around the people; I went once and decided to leave with this nonsense; it took 30 minutes for someone to open up the pen so we could get out. You could not pay me 10,000 dollars for this. grr

New Year's Eve in Times Square has officially begun. And it is a nightmare. ​These people are sprinting to secure a spot on the concrete for an event that doesn't happen for another several hours. ​The Reality is no public bathrooms. Once you're in, you can't leave. Many of these people are wearing adult diapers just to survive the wait. ​Imagine waiting 18 hours in the cold, unable to pee, just to see a ball drop for 60 seconds. Humans continue to remain a mystery to some of us.

I knew nothing about this extraordinary marvel: the ‘Sikkim Sundari’ Thriving at staggering altitudes of 4,000–4,800 meters, this "Glasshouse Plant" stands like a glowing tower against the mountains. Its life is a masterclass in patience. It is monocarpic, which means that it lives as a small rosette of leaves from 7 to 30 years (!!) quietly storing energy. Then, in one final, heroic act, it shoots up to 2 meters tall, blooms into a magnificent pagoda, releases its seeds, and dies. It’s the stuff of poetry, yet my school biology textbooks (from ages ago, of course!) never mentioned it, even while describing flora from halfway across the world. I wonder if current Indian school curricula finally reference this local legend?
