Olli Maatta is in year 1 of a 3-year deal at $3.5M AAV. He also just sat as a healthy scratch for 23 games in a row. Fans have wondered when the Flames would start 'weaponizing' their cap space. If the Weegar deal goes through and Maatta is part of it, I'd suggest they just did.
