@Monica55dzrh Never. 12 years I walked to and from school. Grade school was only about 3 blocks but high school was a much longer walk!

@JoBlogs40103762 @Hoorain154 Now it seems most businesses are open on holidays... Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, Easter, 4th of July, etc. These are all just another day of the week now. We do our best to keep them special and not shop and prefer making memories with family on those days.

@Hoorain154 I even remember when businesses closed half days on Wednesdays, when pubs and bars didn't open on Sundays and when our three TV stations here in the UK signed off at midnight, the National Anthem was played and then the stations shut down until the next morning.

@Hoorain154 I was just thinking the other day how special Sundays were. I had certain clothes and shoes that were only for Sunday. It was always a calm and peaceful day. My father never worked on Sundays so after church we'd spend the day with family. or go to the park. I miss it!
