Really happy to have our paper "Paths that led to gold: historical roads, trade, and persistence" published at RSUE! Joint with Alexandre Portugal, a very promising PhD candidate specializing in economic history. doi.org/10.1016/j.regs…

New paper out in JRSS Series C (@RoyalStatSoc): We propose an interpretable tensor model for crime data across type, space, and time, with predictive performance comparable to black-box methods and the added advantage of uncovering the dependence structures underlying criminal activity. Evidence from Chicago police reports. With G. Zens, D. Durante (@DanieleDurante2), and E. Patacchini (@EleonoraPatacc2). academic.oup.com/jrsssc/advance…

Argumentamos no op-ed que o saque-aniversário permite uma reorganização financeira para as famílias, que reduzem seu endividamento a uma taxa de juros alta ao sacar parte da poupança compulsória.

This paper is very special to me for two reasons: 1) It was great to work with Tales, one of my first PhD students, from whom I learned so much about the economics of education. 2) Personal note: my father graduated from a Fatec (in the 80s), it really meant a lot for him. (3/4)
