100% true.
Starting 8-2-2 made them use more safe veterans instead of letting rookies err as they learn. It’s not about “chances to take a spot,” it’s about just playing kids.
Murashov’s NHL stats were the best of the Penguins’ goalies.

@MarkMaddenX That’s just not true, Super. They abandoned load management for 81. They gave Koivunen and McGroarty plenty of chances to take a spot and they didn’t. That’s not on the Penguins. A Hayes showed a flash but played himself out of the lineup. Even Murashov didn’t look quite ready.
