A lot of partnership is letting go of some control. If he brings home the "wrong" milk, instead of scolding your husband as if he's a misbehaving child, use that milk and see if anyone knows the difference. If they do, SEND THEM TO TELL HIM. If they don't, then why were you obsessing about a brand of milk that no one cares about? Or make him make an itemized list of what's in the cabinets so he knows for himself. Why are you, as a woman, making yourself the Pantry Gatekeeper? Give the man a piece of paper and a pen and tell him to collect "pantry stats." Men love stats! They LIVE for stats. Then he has the knowledge for himself. A lot of this is learning good leadership, which includes delegation. Delegating doesn't mean telling other people exactly what they should do. It means teaching them how things are done in a way that allows them to know for themselves what to do. With curiosity. Trust other people's brains!

Dos casos reales. En uno, una mujer es interceptada por su expareja afuera de su casa: golpes, jaloneos y las manos al cuello hasta que no puede respirar; se salva mordiéndolo y huyendo. En otro, dentro del hogar que compartían, él se le sube encima, la ahorca, le dice que la va a matar, la patea y la deja al borde del desmayo hasta que interviene una vecina. Fiscalías acusaron tentativa de feminicidio. Los hechos están probados. La violencia también. ¿El resultado? No es tentativa. Solo violencia familiar y lesiones. ¿Por qué? Porque el estándar que están usando los tribunales es brutalmente alto: no basta estrangular, no basta amenazar de muerte, no basta someter con violencia extrema. Exigen acreditar, casi con lógica de necropsia frustrada, que la muerte ya estaba en curso: presión suficiente, tiempo suficiente, daño vital verificable. Si la víctima logra escapar, si no hay huella clínica contundente de asfixia letal, el sistema dice: “no alcanzó”. Y ahí es donde el derecho se vuelve profundamente cuestionable, porque está pidiendo que el intento de matar deje prácticamente las mismas huellas que un homicidio que no se consumó. Y esto, desde una visión seria de violencia familiar, es inaceptable. El estrangulamiento es uno de los indicadores más claros de riesgo feminicida. No es una lesión más: es una antesala de muerte. Si el sistema no logra nombrarlo como tentativa, el problema no es solo de prueba, es de comprensión. Se necesita mejor investigación forense, sí, pero también jueces que entiendan lo que significa que alguien te apriete el cuello y te diga que te va a matar. Porque si eso no es tentativa… entonces estamos esperando a que el siguiente caso ya no tenga posibilidad de contarse.
