@leedsrhinos "Rob Burrow" he proudly answered. I looked at him, saw his stature & realised straight away, of course he was! We had a lovely chat & I've always remembered the down to earth man, who since suffered so much very publicly, but did it with dignity and warmth.

@leedsrhinos Sad to hear this news - I met him years ago in Barcelona when the Rhinos were playing Catalans. Got chatting with him in a cafe asking if he usually travelled away with the team - "Yeah, my lad plays for them". Geoff wasn't known in those days, so I asked who his son was.

It is with deep sadness that the club has learnt of the passing of Geoff Burrow, the father of Rob Burrow. Our deepest condolences go to Geoff's wife Irene and the whole Burrow family at this time. May he rest in peace therhinos.co.uk/article/23118/…

@simplepastor Yes, but why is the capital not the biggest city in each case? Canberra, Pretoria, Ottawa, Wellington, DC - and they’re all a bit similar, too. (Also Brasilia?) Odd.

Question. Many English speaking countries—but not UK—have three major cities: • a capital (DC, Ottawa, Pretoria, Wellington) • a bigger financial centre people treat like a capital (NYC, Toronto, Joburg, Auckland) • a beachy cultural centre (LA, Vancouver, Cape Town) Why?
