@dean_eurovision It was and it did better than I thought it would, particularly with the public, but it was always a dark horse for me and never a winning contender. Easy to say in hindsight but it was never going to finish above 🇨🇭 or 🇭🇷 that year for starters. 4th was always the ceiling.

🇨🇦 Canada isn’t part of the European Broadcasting Area nor are they a member of the Council of Europe so, according to the EBU’s own Statutes, they’re ineligible for full EBU Membership. Nothing to “consider.”

🤓 Nerd post but #Eurovision odds on this day in 2018 are remarkably similar to today. The (at the time) fan favourites in first with identical odds, opera in second and, dare I say, a surprisingly good entry in third. Fuego was 25th at this point.

@samantatuna I’m well aware, thank you, but based on everything we’ve seen over the past few years, they are clearly more likely to win the televote than several of the countries above them here, therefore them being outside the Top 10 is ludicrous.
