10 years ago I met a disabled little boy in a respite children’s home in Leicester. Only it wasn’t a respite for him, it was his home and he’d lived there for 3 years. His foster mum who he’d lived from birth died suddenly when he was 3 and he never ate or drank again. 🧵

@Damian_Roland An NHS campaign about ‘spotting the sick child’ is needed urgently & would help everyone - patients and staff. If people feel anxious and do not know how to properly differentiate an ‘abnormally ill child ’ from a ‘normally ill child’… how can they be safely asked to stay away?

Got called beautiful and a barbie by a parent in work today. Sad thing is, it wasn’t a compliment it was a plan for them to get bumped up the queue 😂
