For the record, saving the world from a threat isn’t atonement. It’s just him doing his job. Like, atonement is the specific act of making amends or reparations for the past. So Enji can’t just perform any act of good will and call it atonement. Honestly, that’s what I would have wanted from Enji. Atonement that isn’t just slightly beyond the bare minimum. I’ve talked to death about how badly written Enji’s atonement in the story is though. So tbh, his lack of any substantial punishment isn’t even the problem here tbh.

I thought the inclusion of Amaterasu here was pointless and just made it look even more fraudulent because their normal chidori x rasengan clashes always cancel out but I realised it’s what led to them losing their arms this time
