In gymnastics with @PE_SportService we practised our pikes, tucks, straddles and balancing skills on the mats and the equipment.

Birch Class had a super Art lesson this afternoon. We experimented with adding various amounts of blue and yellow paint, to make different shades of green.

Today in Birch Class, we were exploring the numbers 14, 15 and 16. Can you tell your grown up how many tens and how many ones are in each number?

After our Christmas craft morning, we enjoyed party games and lots of dancing in the hall with our friends @HazelClassHFS 🎄❤️

Birch Class had a lovely morning decorating biscuits and making some Christmas crafts as part of our Festive Fun Day. 🎅🏼🎄🌟

This morning we enjoyed listening to the Christmas Story with The Reverend Rundell. We loved our Christmas themed craft activities too. 🌟

It was a very festive afternoon in Birch Class. We enjoyed watching Year 3’s dress rehearsal and we have been making our Christmas cards. We can’t wait to bring them home. 🎄

@Havannah1st staff had an excellent twilight session with Joe @PE_SportService this evening. Staff now have lots of ideas to develop the teaching of fundamental movement. Well done to our sporty volunteers. 👏🏼

Mrs McMillan worked with our play leaders and some Key Stage One children as part of our team talent afternoon. We played lots of games and we thought about what makes a good play leader. We finished off the fun with a race on our new sit on scooters. Well done everyone. 🙌🏼🙌🏼

We then went on to find our number bonds to 10, including the subtraction facts. Well done Birch Class superstars!

We started our Maths lesson with a game this morning. We were brilliant at taking turns to guess which number was missing from the number line

This week in Birch Class we have been making our Room on the Broom story maps. We are brilliant at keeping Mrs McMillan right with the actions, which help us to remember the text.

We had a lovely Art lesson this afternoon creating a piece using primary colours. We showed great concentration and the determination to succeed.

Some members of Birch Class made their own poppies to wear on Remembrance Sunday.

This afternoon Year One learned about Remembrance Sunday and why we wear poppies. They went on to create some beautiful artwork, making and drawing their own poppies.

In science, we started learning about the human body. We played a game with partners where we had to point to different body parts. We then used our phonics skills to write and label an outline of the human body.

We had a super busy morning in Birch Class. We labelled the features of instructions and then followed them carefully to make our own cut and stick firework. 🎆 Enjoy bonfire night, if you are out and about and remember how to stay safe. 👍🏼🌟
