Turkey has a deep identity crisis and is constantly haunted by a past it didn’t build and can’t escape.
“Anatolian Turks” is a fabricated identity - a label designed to cast invaders as the natural inhabitants of a land they occupied. Turks came from the Central Asian steppe and burst into Anatolia by force, destroying the Byzantine Greek, Armenian, and ancient Christian civilisations that had shaped this land for millennia.
This is an Ancient Greek theatre. You don’t inherit an identity by destroying the people who created it.

Being multilingual in Venetian-ruled Corfu was normal for the local aristocracy. The fact that Kapodistrias knew Italian doesn't make him less Greek. The claim that he couldn't speak or write Greek fluently until his 20s' requires evidence, not repetition.

It's literally the place of first European civilization

Went to this place called Knossos in Crete Island to learn more about the Minoan civilisation that ended circa 1500 BC only to be welcomed like this, probably descendants of peacocks from India or Persia. Knossos is among the oldest cities in Europe.
