From Lagos to Cotonou yesterday and the road is already delivering. We visited the @BitcoinBenin community in Benin 🇧🇯, sat with the Bitcoiners on ground, heard their stories, and spent sats with local merchants. Not as tourists. As participants in something being built. This is what #SatsOnTheRoad is about. Phase 1 of this journey takes us from Lagos through Cotonou and Lomé, all the way to Ouagadougou, visiting circular economies, strengthening connections, and asking the same question at every stop: how do we collectively make the Bitcoin ecosystem across Africa stronger? The answer is showing up in person. Spending. Listening. Building trust across borders. The most powerful moment from the Benin meetup: someone traveled all the way from Gabon 🇬🇦 just to be in the room. He heard about the meetup, got on the road, and showed up. He is now heading back to Gabon to start a Bitcoin community there. That is the compounding effect of showing up. One meetup. One conversation. A whole country’s community about to begin. As I type this, we are on the move to Lomé, Togo 🇹🇬 — where we will meet the community there and keep the momentum going. Traveling across Africa has always been the dream.
