The 49ers 2023 class is the lowest graded of the 224 classes in our database.
Didn’t even remotely give themselves a chance.
When people say that drafting near the consensus doesn’t actually matter, just show them this class.

The problem w this line of thinking imo is that the consensus board is not a consensus of teams draft boards.

People can diss the consensus board all they want, and teams *should* operate off their own rankings. BUT… 1. If youre taking the 240th guy on the consensus board at 100. You should trade down and take him. It’s just bad resource management. 2. If your board consistently has guys ranked 100 slots off consensus, maybe your board sucks.

@davezengzhang @HashTaguars People track the reaches against the board, they heavily correlate with busts. And btw NFL teams use the consensus board as a tool and reference.

How many of the 134 big boards are just copying bigger analysts. Also, there is 0 chance that many big boards actually watch over 100 prospects to make this useful past a certain point

@PriscoCBS @Marcel_LJ What’s more likely? My team saw something 31 other teams missed? Or my team missed something. 31 other teams saw? You don’t have to be a slave to the consensus ranks but you have to be aware of them. If for no other reason than to maximize your draft picks
