On this day we remember Kamal Nasser Kamal Adwan and Muhammad Youssef al-Najjar three names that are not separate from Palestine but part of its soul its voice and its memory They were taken together in Beirut in 1973 during Operation Spring of Youth when Israeli commandos entered the city at night and targeted them in their homes assassinating them in a single coordinated strike meant to silence the mind of the revolution break its structure and erase its voice But Palestine is not erased Kamal Nasser was the voice of Palestine a poet who carried his people through language and truth he stood before the world with clarity and dignity insisting that Palestine would speak for itself and not be spoken over he believed that identity memory and narrative were not secondary to liberation but its foundation Kamal Adwan was the builder of Palestine he understood that struggle is not only in confrontation but in the long patient work of organizing people educating youth and building unity he worked to shape a generation that knew its purpose and carried its cause with discipline and vision Abu Youssef al Najjar was the backbone of Palestine a founding figure who helped build the internal structure of Fatah and the PLO he worked to maintain unity coordination and resilience under constant pressure believing that liberation requires organization as much as sacrifice They were targeted because they represented what could not be easily defeated a voice that speaks a people that organizes and a movement that endures They were martyred together but they live on in every Palestinian who refuses to forget in every word that carries truth in every act that carries resistance and in every heart that still says Palestine This is not only their anniversary it is a reminder that a people rooted in memory and identity cannot be erased
