One thing everyone who puts in the work to support and save Palestinian lives knows all too well is how difficult it can be at times to get through that final push when fundraisers near their goals. To the extent that I can, I want to be that final push. There are twelve fundraisers in this linktree, and today I am committing to donate the last 2,000 USD/EUR/GBP or, in one case, 3,000 CAD to close out these campaigns. A lot of time and consideration went into selecting these fundraisers, and in the coming days I will speak further on what these beautiful souls mean to me and why I feel so compelled to support them. Please give as generously as you can, the sooner we approach the finish line the sooner I can do my part. From the river to the sea, فلسطين will be free. 🇵🇸🤍 linktr.ee/blindsdontwork

@bigunderstander @LexiAlex Oh no doubt, when it comes to America in particular I just don't really see anything short of mass strikes/violent revolt moving the needle. I'm more so thinking of other govts. that ostensibly support Palestine.

@blindsdontwork @LexiAlex It’s almost like people don’t think “pressure” will have any effect in the US since it almost never does. Not a new phenomenon either—look at the Vietnam War.

@LexiAlex Really chaps my ass to know there are multi-millionaires and billionaires out there that could've taken care of it with ease, but instead it's just a bunch of us peons driving ourselves beyond broke to pick up the slack and destroying our mental health in the process. 🤬

@NotCantOrWont Graeber & Wengrow critique Hobbes at length, which is likely why they do not care for Pinker either. It's way more than I can explain here, but if you get the chance their book is a good read.

@blindsdontwork I legit don't know where that person get's all that cuz Pinkerton states "Today any understanding of human violence must begin with their analyses." specifically talking about Hobbes (and lesser Darwin). Shit, I came away from the chapter thinking more highly of Hobbes 😅

I'm not but halfway thru the book, but the only way I could see it as Pinkerton saying it's cities is if one skips over the first 400 pages and skips all pre-city human history that's talked about and the changes during that period of time. Whoever wrote that boils down an over 800 page book into a single statement.

The continuous and intense shelling, if it doesn't kill us, affects my deaf sisters greatly. It causes severe pain for them by shaking their eardrums. I don't know what to do for them. I'm in agony seeing them suffer, so please share and donate.🙏 gofund.me/7366ca82

@blindsdontwork Weirdly enough I wonder if that chapter shares anything in common with the book I'm currently reading

@falastinerkive Are you making several donations in a short period of time? For whatever reason, banks tend to be very suspicious of GFM activity. Back when I was making 5-20 donations/day my bank would temporarily lock my card every 5 or so donations.

@TerrinaMajnoona Absolutely, and I really wish people would stop letting those accounts drive the narrative. I suppose it's just a microcosm of the reactionary nature of the platform, but it's exhausting seeing people waste so much time and energy reacting to blatantly obvious, inorganic hasbara.

@TerrinaMajnoona The conversations I have irl are a world apart from the conversations that happen on here. Vast majority of people I talk to irl are woefully uninformed, and where they even have an opinion on the matter it's typically one of sympathy but helplessness to effect change.

@mamoun_linda @AJP_Diddle That and the fact that SO MUCH of the information about the reality of the situation is confined to social media, and very specific corners of it at that. I got very angry pushback when I pointed this out. 😑

@AJP_Diddle It’s definitely the case that most people are just struggling day to day in their own lives and have no idea what’s going on. But when I try to post about how sooo many people still don’t have a clue, I get tons of pushback. It’s almost Stalinist.

I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to accept that two things can be true. In the US there has been an immerse totally unanticipated surge in awareness of the truth about Palestine in some demographics AND there are still huge swathes of the public who know nothing about Palestine and believe only the propaganda they’ve been fed about Israel’s “war against Hamas.” All this while there is basically nothing left of Gaza and hundreds of thousands have been killed or seriously injured with no end in sight to the genocide. So, yes, there is still work to be done and no it’s not just our elected leaders who support Israel.
