Time for a serious conversation about ILCA(Many of them + some from TPC is Pokémon Works)
I don’t say this with malice but it’s obvious that they’re incompetent.& I don’t understand why TPC hasn’t cut ties with them.
We know for a fact that the first Champions project failed and was then restarted.
After that,development was never seemed smooth,to the point where I speculate that it may have been restarted again.
It was such a mess that they had to keep cutting out features and/or pushing it back,to the point that the release date was up in the air until the very last minute. It even seems like a conversation was had if it would even release in 2026 or not.(Info from insiders)
Why do you think they said “April” on Pokémon day instead of just saying April 8. And that’s why the mobile part of it was delayed, and why it launched with missing features and bugs.
This is already on top of BDSP launching in a similar buggy state, cutting features, and not really understanding the magic of Pokémon.
AND people always forget that ILCA has always l been over the mess that is Pokémon HOME(bugs, wrong pokemon models,not enough space,loooong integration with mainline games).
They’ve apparently been over the last 2 years of the declining Pokémon Sleep too.
All of that to say, we’re talking about a dev company that essentially only has to deal with mobile games, and port existing things like DP and a battle sim of a system that has existed for 30 years.
I’m all for giving grace and many trial-runs, but at some point they might want to say sorry you guys are just not good enough for the caliber that’s expected of Pokémon 🤷🏼♂️

Joe Merrick is usually the person trying to see the good in Pokémon games and telling people to chill out with the outrage farming.
When even the Serebii guy is like “yeah I’m not feeling this” it definitely doesn’t feel good.

hearing this from joe serebii himself is probably the most scathing comment possible. alongside wolfey's only post about the game is him getting soft locked, it's a pretty bad look. ILCA dictating the future of VGC is worrying, but rooting for champion's success is all we can do.

Worst game ever, you can’t even tell me this was intentional, just seems like a mistake or they didn’t look at how mega used to work and tried to just make it from scratch

For some reason, the slower Mega activates first. In the games I played, Mega Tyranitar's Mega Activated Second In Trick Room, and against a Mega Greninja outside of Trick Room, my Tyranitar Mega Evolved First and Greninja Mega Evolved second, is this a bug or intended?

It's 24 hours since release and of all the big pokemon twitch accounts i expected to be no-lifing champions for months approximately 3 are live right now

champions devs were more focused on buffing moves like "toxic thread" than launching the game with non-random mega order

The Pokémon Champions Japan event-hosting guidelines state that organizers may not collect entry fees or sponsorships in order to run offline events.
This rule change (perhaps due to legal reasons?) will likely ruin the Japanese grassroots scene. Just awful

Pokémon Champions bug on Switch 2 causes RESOLUTION TO BE HALVED:
- If you start the game while the console is docked the resolution is halved
- If you undock and dock the console while the game is running the resolution gets fixed
I’m seriously at a loss of words for this…
