@bombsorbullets And I also believe that issue is overstated. All of my street cats, if they ever had health issues, still had good temperaments. I was happy to give them the best life they could. Even if they were ever inbred or the like, at least I proactively stopped the cycle.

If I ever am in the place I think I wanna get a Siamese… love me a good Siam. I’m a sucker for flame points so that’ll be hard to find tho since they’re out of standard :(

@tygnwastaken Irresponsible owners is definitely an issue that needs more attention. Ownership and husbandry for cats in general needs to be confronted as I’m tired of barn cats being seen as disposable. Also kill shelters (aka open intake) aren’t a bad thing.

@bombsorbullets If there is a demand for cats I don't think there should be a means of circumventing the necessary friction that human beings should responsibly be forced to confront when the overpopulation of cats kills our species of birds and die in the streets when we BROUGHT them here.

@tygnwastaken They were genetic issues that were tracked genetically and fixed through future generations. Of course my guy was gelded so he didn’t have offspring, but the mares and stallions from his line most probably did.

@bombsorbullets Is it not the responsibility of humans to take care of those animals and take them in rather than circumventing the issue for ones own convenience? Humans contributed to those situations. I reject the idea that its needed

@tygnwastaken So what’s wrong with wanting to improve genetics of the animals we have no and preserve health? You want them to always be a mixed bag and a surprise of ailments?

@bombsorbullets None of the cats I have owned have swapped personalities and become nasty suddenly after I picked them up from a dumpster. You do not NEED a siamese cat with the exact personality you desire. Just a good fucking cat. It is the arrogance of humanity that demands precise control.
