In 1987, Sugar Ray Leonard edged Marvin Hagler by split decision at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in a fight that remains one of the most debated verdicts in boxing history. After the fight, Leonard was asked whether he could have lasted 15 rounds. He replied, “I was exhausted in the 12th round, but I would have found a way to go three more rounds with Hagler.” HBO commentator Larry Merchant then posed an interesting question: could Hagler have insisted that the bout be contested over the traditional 15-round distance instead?

Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs is one of the most explosive punchers the heavyweight division has ever seen. He recorded an astonishing 37 first-round knockout wins—more than any heavyweight champion in boxing history.

An estimated 20,000 fans turned out at Glasgow's Hampden Park to watch Mike Tyson take out Lou Savarese in just 38 seconds in 2000. While most of Tyson's quick-fire finishes arrived in the early part of his career, the same power and destructive instincts carried over to the later portion. Arriving in Glasgow with his mere presence creating controversy, Tyson did little in the ring to persuade otherwise. Setting about Savarese, Tyson scored a quick knockdown and continued pummelling him, accidentally catching poor referee John Coyle as he tried to end matters after just 38 seconds.

Це свідоме рішення, яке, я впевнений, відкриє для мене нові можливості. Це не кінець історії. Продовження попереду. ____ This is a well-considered decision that I am confident will open new opportunities for me. This is not the end of the story. The continuation lies ahead.

@AwedaJoshua That sequence was clean. Lopes lands the heavy shot, sees Ortega stumble, and chains the follow-up instantly without hesitating. Smart, high-pressure striking. He controlled the fight well with those knockdowns and ground work too.

When Loma got dropped but bounced back Vasiliy Lomachenko responded like a true champion after getting dropped by Jorge Linares. Down in round six, Lomachenko went through the gears to stop the Venezuelan in the 10th session with a sickening body shot.

The night Butterbean took his first loss 😳 Eric 'Butterbean' Esch was 15-0 when last-minute replacement Mitchell Rose stopped him. The unheralded Rose had a record of 1-7-1 prior to his upset victory. Butterbean bounced back by going on a 51-fight undefeated streak - although several of the points wins and draws along the way were considered controversial.

Joe Calzaghe was knocked down four times in his career. In all four instances, he went on to win the fight. He suffered his first career knockdown against Byron Mitchell who put him over in the 2nd round of their Cardiff clash. Calzaghe's response spoke volumes...
