Most car dealers are buying dead cars from Copart and salvage auctions, and it's killing their business! There are actually 3 major places to source cars from the U.S., but most dealers only know one Thread below 🧵👇

Disney just fired the man who designed the visual identity of the entire MCU. 16 years. $30 billion at the box office. And they replaced him with freelancers. I’m going to put all of Andy Park’s contributions in the comments so you realize who this man actually is.

Marvel Studios Visual Development: 2010–2026 End of an era. I was there at the start of a team that broke the mold. 16 years, 40+ films, and 15 films led as Director of Visual Development, I couldn’t be prouder of the history we made. My journey continues… #Marvel #AndyPark

This reminds me of Frank Gilbreth, the father in Cheaper by the Dozen (the book). He was a motion study expert who would go into factories and figure out how to shave time off an assembly line. He was also an extroverted huckster type who loved attention. The first thing he would say in a new factory was, “Show me your laziest man.” His theory was that the laziest person had come up with the most ingenious shortcuts in order to save energy. As an extremely lazy child who liked lying around reading and was always trying to figure out ways to turn off the light without getting out of bed, etc. this thought was so gratifying to me, like I might actually have a superpower. (It’s a great and very charming book!)

The World Bank report Vs Ministry’s response - -The report says: 41% of all federation revenue was taken off the top before reaching FAAC. Ministry says: Nothing to see here. -The report says: Deductions are opaque, oversized, and shrinking funds for development. Ministry says: They’re legitimate, so stop asking questions. -The report says: Some agencies now get more money than several states. Ministry says : These are normal transfers. -The report’s data (2023–2025) is current and shows deductions rising from ₦6.2T to ₦14.9T. Ministry says : Critics used outdated data. -The report says: Capital spending is falling despite rising revenue. Ministry says: You’re focusing on the wrong thing. -The report says: Reforms could help if anchored with social safety nets. Ministry says: Reforms are already working; nothing spoil. So, bottom line: The World Bank raised red flags that should concern every Nigerian, especially any responsible government; the ministry responded with talking points, good vibes and insha’ Allah!
Taiwo Oyedele@taiwoyedele

FEDERAL MINISTRY OF FINANCE PRESS STATEMENT FALSE ALLEGATION OF HIDDEN SPENDING AND DIVERSION OF FEDERATION REVENUE The attention of the Federal Ministry of Finance has been drawn to recent media reports and commentaries that misrepresent the findings of the latest Nigeria Development Update by the World Bank, particularly claims suggesting that a significant portion of federation earnings is being “diverted” or constitutes “hidden spending.” These interpretations misrepresent the World Bank’s analysis and reflect a misunderstanding of the fiscal system. MISINTERPRETATION OF FAAC DEDUCTIONS The misreporting in question incorrectly characterises Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) deductions as “waste” or missing funds. This is incorrect. FAAC deductions, as presented in the World Bank report, include: Statutory transfers, Savings and investments, Security-related expenditures, Cost-of-collection charges, Refunds to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Transfers and interventions benefiting subnational governments. It is important to emphasise that refunds and transfers to states and other tiers of government are not leakages. They represent legitimate fiscal flows, including repayments of obligations and statutorily backed allocations. SELECTIVE USE OF OUTDATED DATA Some commentaries selectively relied on past data while ignoring the forward-looking analysis and ongoing public financial management reforms highlighted in the report. The World Bank explicitly notes that reforms implemented in early 2026, including the recently signed Executive Order to safeguard remittance of petroleum revenues, are already addressing concerns around deductions, and are expected to improve transparency while increasing revenues available to all tiers of government by about 0.4% of GDP annually. Misinterpreting one aspect of the analysis without acknowledging the progressive reforms and measures already introduced to enhance distributable federation revenues gives a distorted picture. STRONGER MACROECONOMIC FUNDAMENTALS The broader message of the World Bank report is positive and forward-looking: Economic growth is becoming more broad-based across sectors. Inflation, while still elevated, is declining due to deliberate policy actions. Nigeria’s external position has strengthened significantly, with improved reserves and a current account surplus. Debt indicators have improved, including a decline in the debt-to-GDP ratio, the first in over a decade. These developments reflect the outcomes of the current administration's ongoing macroeconomic policies and public financial management reforms. THE REAL MESSAGE OF THE REPORT The World Bank does not conclude that Nigeria’s fiscal system is collapsing or that reforms have failed. Rather, it states that reforms are working, and they must be sustained and deepened to translate macroeconomic gains into inclusive growth. CONCLUSION The Federal Government remains committed to strengthening fiscal transparency, improving revenue mobilisation, ensuring efficient public spending, and deepening reforms to support inclusive economic growth. An accurate understanding and responsible reporting of fiscal information are critical to maintaining confidence in Nigeria’s reform trajectory and economic outlook. We urge stakeholders, media organisations, and the public to engage constructively with fiscal information and avoid twisted interpretations that may undermine reform efforts and fuel public discord. Signed Taiwo Oyedele Honourable Minister of State for Finance, Federal Republic of Nigeria April 19, 2026

After Mobil, Dr Olukoya of Mountain of Fire Ministry (MFM) was the second biggest financier of Athletics in Nigeria at the time. He primarily focused on the Junior category, and sponsored the National Junior trials for many years. When he withdrew from sponsoring these trials, the AFN struggled to hold the trials on their own without his financial backing. In fact, MFM was heavily involved in funding sports in Nigeria. A lot of Nigeria's great sports people owe a lot to Olukoya and his church. This is why, after many of Odunayo Adekuoroye's wrestling conquests, she would spend some time to thank Dr Olukoya. In fact, Adekuoroye even had a dedicated Nigerian flag with the MFM emblem to celebrate with after winning a medal for the country. Dr Olukoya and TB Joshua really pumped a lot of money into Nigerian sports.

Dr Olukoya sighted. These are untold stories of how churches have built talents. I believe he also had rewards for 1st class students in mathematics in Unilag back then. TB Joshua and some other pastors also had sporting academies for talents.

I fell in love with her in 300 level. She was in my department, quiet, always carried a tote bag full of novels. I wasn’t even trying to date anybody that year , I was broke and repeating one course. But she helped me with assignments and never made me feel dumb. We started dating. She was soft with me. Too soft. I took advantage of that. 3 months in, I cheated. It was stupid. A girl from my street kept coming to my lodge “to read” and one night it happened. I told myself it meant nothing. But the guilt ate me. Instead of telling her, I started picking fights. I’d snap at her for small things. I called her “boring” because she didn’t like clubs. I stopped replying fast so she’d feel insecure. I wanted her to leave first so I wouldn’t have to confess. She didn’t leave. She tried harder. She started cooking for me, washing my clothes, even writing my lab reports. The kinder she was, the worse I acted. One night she found the other girl’s text on my phone. She didn’t scream. She just sat on my bed and asked, “Is it true?” I lied. Looked her dead in the eye and said “No, she’s lying.” Then I told her she was paranoid and needed help. She packed her things quietly and left. I never saw her cry. 2 weeks later I heard she deferred that semester. Depression. Her friend told me she stopped eating. I tried to call. She’d changed her number. That was 2 years ago. I’m done with school now. I’ve dated other people. But every time I remember her face that night calm, believing my lie, I hate myself.

“Last week, my 12 year old nephew, Jamal, was to receive an honours award at school, so we all went along to cheer him. Before we left the house, he gave his parents a very clear warning: “Daddy, Mummy, please don’t embarrass me today. Don’t scream my name, no shouting. Try to act normal.” He was completely serious, you could see it on his face. Then he turned to me and said, “Control them,” I nodded and smiled. We arrived his school, and the award ceremony began. When Jamal’s name was mentioned, his parents shouted his name, clapped louder than anyone else, and his dad even stood up repeatedly yelling, “That’s my boy!” My sister was practically jumping out of her seat with excitement. Of course, I joined them, shouting “Jamal! Jamal!” After the awards, the headteacher asked the students to turn and acknowledge their families. We waved at him again, all excited, trying to get his attention. Jamal kept dodging eye contact, he was shaking his head like we had disappointed him, and quickly hid behind his friend. 😂 On our way home, he complained bitterly the entire time. “Can you people ever act normal? No one was shouting like the way you did. Aunty, you even joined them…” he went on like that until we got home. Guess what? Another Essay competition is coming up at the end of the month, and he is part of it again. We are still going to shout his name. He will accept this love whether he likes it or not. We cannot come and be forming mature family members when our own child is winning.” Abi na bad thing?

One of the best periods in my life was when I lived in London and spent my entire paycheck attending the opera. I went to plays, ballets, and concerts while subsisting on canned beans and Tesco ready to eat sandwiches. It was a horrendous financial decision, yet one of the best things I’ve ever done. Those months in London shaped me like no other, and my soul was transformed by the music I encountered. “Man does not live by bread alone", indeed.

Kids are on spring break. My neighbors' kids have come asking for snacks and dry goods many times, as if I were a supermarket owner. I forgot how this used to be. They are almost teenagers now, bigger and hungrier. They have emptied my pantry.
