@casphyt So Avid once posted about "aggressive flirting" and going back to that time the only person we can think of he was flirting on streams was Scott. Also he was posting things that were supposed to attack specific person. With Cam is simple, he quitted Skyblock Kingdom because of it

BTW privilege doesn't just disappear the moment you come out. You're gonna have privilege, especially white and male privilege even after you come out bc of how you're still being perceived by society [obligatory this isn't abt trans women]

@casphyt I'm so glad people are speaking up about this because I felt like I was going INSANE when he complained about people shipping his characters. My brother in christ, YOU pushed the aviscott plotline in vampires!! It was practically one sided!!!

(1/4) to also answer this, my opinion is that avids approach when coming out as nb was unfortunate to say the least . when he originally came out, he did it off the basis of talk surrounding under representation of afab people and pocs in the mcyt space and i think this set the

(4/4) overall he came across as arguing that nb people shouldn’t be shipped and be in relationships which was very odd. queer identity is very complex and disregarding this only promotes this rhetoric. i lost all respect after he used identity to shift focus from marginalised ccs

(3/4) it “yaoislop” waters down the issue too, again deflection. if avid didn’t want to be shipped he shouldn’t have pioneered shipping in vampires and spoke in PRIVATE to ccs instead of vagueposting. the whole situation was executed messily and clearly not very well thought out

also another key issue i wanted to add onto; the original premise of avid coming out as nb was based on the discourse surrounding underrepresentation of women, afab, and poc creators in the mcyt community. it was odd to me that avid jumped off the back of this as (1/2)

the time to come as nb, when other creators uplifted marginalised groups it felt as though he was imposing himself on the issue. it drew attention away from the key issues discussed, and coming out will never erase 30 years of straight presenting, white male privilege experienced
