Lost my dad yesterday . Think it’s fair to say it’s been the most brutal few weeks of my life. Fought like the warrior he always was but couldn’t come through . He only officially retired last month my dad my best pal ❤️ I love you ❤️ he didn’t deserve for it to end like this .

🙋🏻‍♂️Trigger warning 🌼 The lifelong effects of the care system. I had a MRI scan on Saturday eve. I told the radiologist that I get claustrophobic.🥶😰 Why? As a little lad i was locked in a small metal rubbish/garbage bin by an adult, male abuser. (I was just 7) He used a cricket bat to hit the bin with me in it, to try to stop me talking or telling anyone what he was doing. The Bin was just like this one👇🏼in pic. The radiologist looked shocked when i told him & initially thought i was joking, once i reassured him i wasn't he was immensely helpful 🙏🏼 As the machine scanned it made a loud da da da da da sound, i could picture & feel that cricket bat as it hit, vibrating through my body just like that da da da da...of the scan. It took me back to 80's ten-foot terraced house UK, Ghost Town playing on the wireless/radio. The radiologist was amazed that i had gone on to become a police officer. Hopefully the scan was worth the effort & my results will be positive.✊🏼 It was nice to be outside in the sunshine even just for a few mins. I carry no shame or guilt 🙋🏻‍♂️ The things we have to go through because of the terrible actions of others! Much love 💙✊🏼 #ThisLittleLad #NeverGiveUp #CareExperienced

The recent ED discharge where elderly medically fit patient sent home at 11pm & family complain. Is it just me that wonders exactly where is the family in all this? I recognise not all older patients have family close, but it never ceases to amaze me how little some families

#stopthepressure2022 Outstanding efforts and such a creative initiative to raise awareness on pressure ulcers and prevention. Included is the use of apples to raise awareness of staging , the cake which represents a sacrum with pressure and included some amazing visual reminders!

Called to ED today re young previously fit patient on their 20th hour on a trolley. Took 10 minutes to say this is acute on chronic glomerulonephritis; we’ll take them if bed or review in OP in days if no bed (no waiting time in our outpatients). Why didn’t GP talk to us? 🤔😪
