@SoLInTheWild I get what you’re saying. The calibre of the young teachers on the Steplab videos is astonishing. They’ve clearly had the explicit teaching you’re describing.

If the U.S. truly wants to move the needle on evidence-based practice and improve Tier 1 instruction, we need a far more robust coaching and feedback system—real time, resources, and trained personnel. Without that type of investment, we’ll keep getting exactly what we have now.

When I share evidence-based practices I use in my classroom, the tell is immediate. Teachers who’ve never received constructive feedback hear it as criticism—“I already do this,” or the belief that practice is as good as it gets. There’s a major feedback problem in teaching. 🧵
