In all humility and with complete respect for judiciary, I have written the following letter to Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma, informing her that pursuing Gandhian principles of Satyagraha, it won’t be possible for me to pursue this case in her court, either in person or through a counsel. I have taken this difficult decision after coming to the clear conclusion that the proceedings being conducted in her court do not, in any manner, satisfy the fundamental principle that ‘justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done’. My participation in these proceedings, either myself or through a counsel will not achieve anything meaningful.

Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma did not dispute this in her verdict. She said, ‘Can’t the children of a judge be lawyers?’ They can be lawyers, and no one has an issue with that. However, if they are government lawyers on the government panel, then there could be a conflict of interest. Whether this judge hears the case or another judge does, the decision has to be made on the basis of evidence and law. Then why should this judge hear the case? Many people are asking these questions. There is no clear answer. This is a legal procedure and it has to be respected, but these doubts and questions remain in people’s minds.”

Very important beginning in India. Judges should disclose conflict of interests. Whose son and daughters are benifiting where ?

The High Court didn’t ask the ED to stop arresting innocent people without trial. But the High Court is asking for videos of those innocent victims of the ED arguing for their freedom to be taken down. It’s time to accept something is seriously rotten in this judicial system.

Why should videos of Arvind Kejriwal arguing in open court be removed? Court proceedings are matters of public record. Transparency builds trust, not secrecy.
