I love fanfic prose. I love flowery language. I love big, dramatic metaphors. I love long emotional sequences. I love lingering in language and emotion, experimenting with it, playing with it, letting things get overwritten because I like exploring it so much. I want more of it.

Also no my page is not a safe space to shit on fanfic prose. Every single writer regardless of the medium starts with fanfic prose LMFAO!!! useless metaphors, excessive imagery, useless information. Thats literally how a person starts developing a narrative voice!!!

maybe this is a hot take but if you really cant get over your ick for amateur writing, maybe u need to take a break from reading fanfiction. not that beautifully written fics dont exist, but professionally edited prose just cant be the standard we judge fic and fanfic authors by

bad writing is how you get good at writing. the more you discourage people from writing what they want or scare them about “fanfic prose” the more you are depriving the world of art. One cannot have their cake and eat it too. Go open that doc if you want good fanfic. Come on.
