Excited to share this work, now out in @NatureGenet . There is no cure for #COPD. To tackle this challenge, we performed nuclear sequencing, spatial transcriptomic, and proteomic analysis of lung tissue from 141 subjects to better understand this disease. #citeas" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">nature.com/articles/s4158…

@Burnt2020 2/2 gap of medics with AHPs but this is in my view dangerous to all and is not the answer to shortages of any members of staff. I want to be a highly qualified good nurse not a medic. If an AHP wants to act as a medic then they should train as one.

In discussions here, ACPs maintain their professional qualifications, plus a masters course of variable content and quality entitles them to work on the same rota, doing the same job as doctors. Why are doctors' education, training, and qualifications treated with such contempt?

Every doctor I know says that professionals should not be replaced by those without their education, training, and qualifications. But this is not reciprocated by many AHPs who think they do not need the same education, training, and qualifications as doctors to practice medicine

Substitution of expertise with enthusiasm doesn’t work when so much of what our NHS clinical staff do is based on years of training, exams and experience. @theBMA agrees with @theRCN that we shouldn’t be replacing expert clinicians the way the NHS is currently rushing to do.

@Burnt2020 1/2 I am a Consultant nurse and was an ANP before being so. I have an academic doctorate but I strongly disagree with going onto a medical rota as I am not qualified to do so. I have multiple skills that my medical colleagues do not and visa versa. Many in management try to the..

We did it! The first approved medication for bronchiectasis Brensocatib approved by the FDA in the United States. A great day for patients and the scientific community that made this happen. Thank you Insmed, all investigators and participants multivu.com/insmed/9347351…

@alisonleary1 2 interventions or investigations, although of course as advanced practitioners we certainly could if appropriate. But often it’s the time we take with our patients that matters. All CNSs out there, you are invaluable and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

@alisonleary1 1. We absolutely make a difference to our patients every single day. Out of all my roles, my time with patients is my most precious. The feedback I hear the most from patients is that I listened to them when nobody else had. Sometimes we don’t need to intervene with complicated

Today is #WorldAsthmaDay! Summer isn’t always an easy season when you have a lung condition. Things like hay fever and hot weather can make breathing more difficult and stop you doing the things you love. This summer we want to inspire you with ways to achieve your goals ☀️

Today’s the day where we finally get to present the 1st National joint NICE/BTS/SIGN asthma guidelines that myself and the other fabulous committee members have been working on for the last 3 years. A little bit excited and a little bit nervous. Let’s see how they’re received.
