Every time I give a talk on btc, someone inevitably claims that quantum computers will crack Bitcoin, so they refuse to buy any. I used to patiently explain why that’s impossible—the tech is still nowhere close. But by the hundredth time I got the question, I changed my answer: All I know is this: people have been saying the same thing for ten years. They were bearish on Bitcoin because of “imminent” quantum attacks. They said it when BTC was $100. They said it at $1,000. They said it at $10,000. And now, at $110,000, they’re still saying it. If you’d shorted Bitcoin at $100 for that reason, you’d have gone broke a thousand times over by now. So if you’re still avoiding BTC because of quantum-computer fears, either you’ve got a cognitive problem—or you just like being poor.
