It’s always important to take a step back and think of a real world situation when approaching/answering this technical questions.

You need to rename a column in a table with 50M rows and nearly zero downtime What's your step by step approach?

@onebox69 Decided that time was better spent going all-in on the skills. Did my internship under the school too, so no regrets honestly.

@chris_datalyst Currently studying CS as well, I'm curious, why did you drop out?
English

@onebox69 Halfway through uni I got really invested in building actual data skills. School slowly got neglected, grades dropped, and I was looking at an extra year just to finish.

What's one skill you've let go cold that you know you need to revive?

Also attended my first remote work workshop by @VsavvyAcademy.
One thing that stuck was the difference between a good candidate and a forgettable one. Beyond skills, visibility and portfolio depth play a HUGE role.
Both things I'm building over the next 179 days.

@chris_datalyst It's crazy, man... but if that's how it is, then so be it. Good luck on your journey. If you need someone to talk to, my DM is opened.

@unnamedcodes yeah. sorry you had to find out this way. i didn't know how to tell ya.
English

@chris_datalyst You dropped out already? Damn, bro 🥲 No wonder I don't see you in class anymore 😪

Every 2 days I'll post exactly what I did — studying, projects, applications, setbacks.
No curated highlight reel. Just the actual work.
Day 1 starts now. #DataAnalytics

Wagwan, great people.
This is my @SuperteamEarn animated video entry for @RaidArenaFun .
I used FlipaClip for clean animation with original handdrawn art to keep things fully custom and creative. For editing and post processing I used YouCut.
Know you'll vibe with it! #RaidArena

I hardly follow trends.
And honestly, it affects me, more than I like to admit.
Most times, the effect is negative.
And by the end of this post, you’ll discover how.
I hardly follow trends, not because I don’t see them, I do.
I see when something starts picking up. I see the early signs. I watch it unfold on my TL.
But most times, I just don’t resonate with it.
It doesn’t feel like me.
So I sit it out.
In the Web3 space, it feels like everything is moving fast.
Every other day, there’s something trending on the TL:
— Thread contests
— Meme challenges
— SocialFi games
— Engagement baits
— AMA sessions
Sometimes, it’s even just a viral post that brings people together, for laughs, for alpha, for new connections.
And when you’re not tuned in, you don’t just miss fun, you miss relevance. You miss growth. You miss opportunity.
I’ve always thought not following trends was a form of discipline. And to be fair, it is.
But I’m realizing now… that discipline, when mixed with silence, can also look like disappearance.
Especially when you’re still growing. Still early. Still trying to build your roots in this space.
If you’re not grounded deep in the system, staying out of trend can actually push you out of sight.
You become invisible.
And in Web3, invisible doesn’t get paid. Doesn’t get seen. Doesn’t grow.
This is just my POV.
Not sure if I’m alone in this, or if someone out there feels the same way.
I’d really love to hear your thoughts.
How do you personally balance staying true to yourself vs staying in the trend?
