@kraigbowers34 @SchutteDustin The difference in volume and difficulty is astronomical though. CJ is 38% on mostly catch and shoot. Carsen was the offense unto himself. No comp IMO. And I think he’ll get a few more shots a game, I just think he’s *most often* still the third or fourth option. Just my thoughts!

@cincyboilers @SchutteDustin Didn’t say he could be Carsen. Said I could see them running more of the same actions as Carsen, which they already did some this year with success. Carsen had a much quicker first step no doubt, but CJ shot itself is as good or better. .382 career percentage vs .368.

@kraigbowers34 @SchutteDustin CJ ≠ Carsen as a shooter or as explosive. I’ve seen nothing to tell me CJ could be that high speed movement shooter like you’d project someone like Webber to in the future. I think he’ll be middle of the pack for Purdue in shot attempts, behind guys like Mayer, West, Pierce.

@cincyboilers @SchutteDustin Scoring has to come from somewhere and him and Pierce are two most proven. I think he’s perfect to run off multiple screens similar to Carsen in an offense I think we’ll see more true sets again.

@kraigbowers34 @SchutteDustin My take on CJ is he starts because he fits perfectly off ball next to anyone, but I don’t think his role changes significantly. A few more shots, but not a guy I see Purdue running a ton of offense for/through. I like him in the opportunistic, high efficiency, solid D role.

@SchutteDustin It’s really hard to do. There’s no way to get West or Benter in there without insulting CJ or Gicarri, and there’s no way to get Ertel (or Webber) in there without insulting practically everyone 😂.

Up 7 basically without one star player at half btw. Smith + Loyer had pedestrian games. Easy to project the second half going VERY differently if TKR doesn’t pick up a 3rd and finds a rhythm. Nonsense to act like Purdue couldn’t win. This was not UConn. Purdue was full capable.

Matt Painter is a fantastic coach. He's gotta find better athletes. Great at developing under the radar guys - maybe the best in the biz by a lot. Needs better athletes. They got can crunched by UConn and Arizona for exactly that reason.

Welp. The season is over. With guys like Ertel, Sinan, CJ, Mayer, Pierce, Antoine, burgess, Gicarri, dj and Webber…..who’s your starting 5 next season and who backs them up? Here’s mine in order of starter, backup, and second backup. This assumes no more portal adds 1. Ertle/Mayer/West 2. Mayer/West/CJ 3. Cj/Gicarri/Benter 4. Burgess/Pierce/Benter 5. Sinan/DJ/Burgess Redshirt - Webber/Knight What’s your prediction for Purdue?

@mshirar @StockTalks21 Sure, but he had to be smarter. His hand stiff armed the guy in the face, and then his 3rd foul was like 100 feet from their basket. Can’t have either. He’s good enough that his top form in that second half could have been the difference in the game. It flipped *immediately*.
