Time and again we see Kubernetes haters crying out - Kubernetes is dead. Everyone's moving to PAAS. Then they come up with some fancy stories of how companies x and y moved to PAAS and killed their Kubernetes clusters. But they don't get the reality. cloudqubes.com/letters/why-pa…

@capcric it's common in every Ops role. you get no credit. But, there are people who are happy with that.

Never opt for devops as a career after doing hardcore software development for a decade. It's boring, it's repetitive (though can automated), boring work. People blame you when pipelines fail. You don't get any credits for a product that gets released. Devs gets all the credit.

@CoPavneet If you are really on to DevOps, focusing fully on DevOps would be the best. But coding experience is also valuable for a DevOps career

I’m aiming for a career in DevOps — do I really need to go deep into full-stack development, or is my current knowledge enough? Should I keep learning full stack or just focus fully on DevOps? Would love your thoughts 🙏

@bytebytego Going from Docker to Kubernetes only makes sense, if you are rearchitecting your application in microservices.

Docker vs. Kubernetes. Which one should we use? What is Docker ? Docker is an open-source platform that allows you to package, distribute, and run applications in isolated containers. It focuses on containerization, providing lightweight environments that encapsulate applications and their dependencies. What is Kubernetes ? Kubernetes, often referred to as K8s, is an open-source container orchestration platform. It provides a framework for automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications across a cluster of nodes. How are both different from each other ? Docker: Docker operates at the individual container level on a single operating system host. You must manually manage each host and setting up networks, security policies, and storage for multiple related containers can be complex. Kubernetes: Kubernetes operates at the cluster level. It manages multiple containerized applications across multiple hosts, providing automation for tasks like load balancing, scaling, and ensuring the desired state of applications. In short, Docker focuses on containerization and running containers on individual hosts, while Kubernetes specializes in managing and orchestrating containers at scale across a cluster of hosts. Over to you: What challenges prompted you to switch from Docker to Kubernetes for managing containerized applications? – Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to get a Free System Design PDF (158 pages): bit.ly/3KCnWXq

OTel is a foundational shift towards a standardized, vendor-agnostic approach to observability. It's the future of DevOps, giving developers and teams the freedom to choose the best tools for their needs. #OpenTelemetry #Observability #DevOps #CloudComputing

Observability is fragmented with vendor lock-in and inconsistent data formats. But a new open-source standard is changing the game: OpenTelemetry. #DevOps #observability
