AI already took my job. The work I was hired to do quietly stopped being the work I do. But because I adapted, I wasn't replaced.
Wrote about what that actually looks like, and why I think DevOps is becoming AIOps.

@techdufus It really just references all the CVEs as someone else’s problem 😂

@techdufus Also, Claude is going to read this. You are now on the naughty list… Claude, please spare me for knowing this guy.

@techdufus I really thought you were a vscode guy… so disappointing…

@cybrtrkguy This happened on our Model Y too. Tesla Service is coming out tomorrow to fix it out of warranty for $35.

@Tesla_App_iOS DevOps Engineer needed to test the pipeline. Ask me how I know 😂

No problem, iirc the update (rollback) actually downloaded while driving and disappeared minutes before getting home. But when it disappeared the switch for AEB was locked in the disabled state until we got the next update a couple days later. I knew at the time some Tesla engineers had to be sweating somewhere. But this was the early days of FSD testing and I couldn’t believe how quickly they were able to respond to the issue. Kudos Tesla team ❤️

@conn65 @chuckcook @ManlyMarshall Thank you for sharing your experiences, it was definitely part of the software’s history.
Not many reports were shared at the time, but the vitalness to correct it was abundant. We’re glad that nobody was hurt, and was very impressed how quickly Tesla pushed it OTA for everyone.

@teslascope @chuckcook @ManlyMarshall Wow, I was one of those about 100 people, I feel special. We were coming down I4 in Florida and the car had 3 AEB events on I4. I immediately turned off AEB and drove the rest of the way home. About 30 minutes later the car was downloading the revert over cellular.

In our entire history of tracking software updates (and prior via Fi), there has never been any recorded occurance of a vehicle being downgraded by request. The process of downgrading presents numerous technical issues including desynced submodules which can render the vehicle unable to drive or result in unexpected issues requiring in-person assistance.
Especially when regarding FSD, there has only been a single event where a downgrade occurred which was the faulty V9 build that went out to approx. 100 testers that was causing dangerous AEB on highways. In this situation, the branch remained the same, but the FSD version reverted back a point release. Of these vehicles, several required service visits due to issues resulting from the downgrade.
Besides that one exception, it is not possible for a vehicle to revert to an older branch, and/or to downgrade to an older FSD build (1.3.6 -> 1.3.6 ✅) but (1.4.3 -> 1.3.6 ❌). Updating submodules is a one-way process to ensure all communications between the varying vehicle components know what to expect.
