I don’t care what anyone says, Sonys fault, Bungies fault, whatever. The massive spending they must have done between 2019-2022 to put them in this state was unbelievably shortsighted. A huge studio headquarters renovation costing many millions, now a complete waste. Multiple incubation projects taking developers from Destiny, seemingly most PvP staff going to Marathon. Just awful decision making. When you have a successful game, and Destiny 2 was at the time, you have to focus on it and deliver for its players, not just pump out one expansion at a time, leaving the rest of the game to rot. If they just focused on Destiny development this whole time with maybe one side project like Marathon this studio would have been fine. Who in their right mind thought that Destiny could fund all of that?

people do the ‘there are two americas’ stuff all the time but this weekend (World Cup/Knicks atmosphere of tons of people coming together rapturously vs. the UFC WH fight) is the most on the nose simultaneous example of this that i can remember

The reason I think we will see more Destiny, at some point, is that making a new live service in the current world is a shot in the dark. Regardless of quality, you never know if it will be huge,decent stable player base, or just flop immediately. If funding Destiny 3 is a risk (which it is), I can’t imagine funding anything else Bungie could make is less risky. At least with Destiny 3 you are starting with a built in player base as a floor and hope it succeeds above that

Honestly I think it’s simple, but very very dumb. If there was only room for one of these games to move forward, it’s hard to pull the plug on the newly released game that you just spent $250M on. It seems more logical to give that game a chance to grow and put the older struggling game down. I don’t agree to be clear but I can see how Sony/Bungie would think, Destiny has run its course, is in a poor state, we gave it a chance after TFS, let’s give this new thing (Marathon) a chance to thrive.

This game was destined to die because @Bungie refused to fix the new player experience. For a decade you had this community look like dickheads trying to convince their friends to spend upwards of $200~ to experience a game they don’t even know they’ll like

@PaulTassi Im trying to think about it like achievement hunting or platinum trophies, its just for the love of the game. Completing things is fun even if it’s not for a purpose. I hope a decent amount of people continue visiting the game as a time capsule so you can lfg some things

@PaulTassi I’m stuck in this weird balance between wanting to catch up and complete my collections, titles, patterns, and other things I fell behind on for that feeling of completionism, versus feeling like what’s the point at this stage.

@PaulTassi I bought the game but have a new kid at home some the commitment to a potentially long match has prevented me from hopping on when I have 15 to 20 minutes. I wish they would add some normal PvP modes. 5v5 tdm, capture the flag, etc. I'd hop on for some practice

I choose my words intentionally. I detest hyperbole. And I believe I am a reasonable voice who presents facts in a measured, responsible, and level-headed manner. To say what I am about to say weighs heavily and is not said lightly or with partisan bias. It is time for the 25th Amendment to be exercised and Donald Trump removed from office. He is destroying our country and has destabilized the entire world. His actions are reckless and are directly endangering the lives, prosperity, and security of Americans. This cannot continue and is unsustainable in the current global environment. In addition to his erratic behavior, I believe he is suffering from dementia and is unable to carry out the Constitutional duties required of the President of the United States of America. I call upon Congress and the President’s cabinet to stop this madness now, before it is too late.
