Gretna East alum Braden Lofquest, a Duke freshman running unattached at a home meet, ran a 3:40.97 1500 yesterday. Our Nebraska running historian, Coach Chris Gannon of Creighton University, reports that the fastest 1500 by a native Nebraskan is a 3:40.77 run by David Adams (York/UNL), converted from his 3:58.44 mile at the KU Relays in 2012. While this isn't technically a sub-4:00 mile since Braden didn't run the full mile, for now we'll call him the second-fastest Nebraska miler. Don't be surprised if he runs faster soon.
